A tale of wartime England, based on my mother’s life.

My mother, Peggy Silk, was in her teens when war came to her Cambridge home in England. Based on the stories she and my father told us again and again, this novella is part memoir and part historical fiction. Amidst bombs and American blokes, my mother coped with fear, loss, and the temptations of wartime culture. This book will appeal to many whose parents or grandparents lived through WWII in Europe, as well as those interested in how war shapes characters and cultures.

My books are available directly from me at my studio (contact me via email at rodgers.ruth@gmail.com), on Amazon (ebook available as well as print-on-demand), and at local bookstores here on the Sunshine Coast, BC: Talewind in Sechelt and EarthFair in Madeira Park.
