My work will be visible in a variety of locations on the coast in the coming months...
I'll have a work in the Sechelt Public Library over the next few months.
My first large (30 x 60) oil (Merry and Bright) is in the Present Tense show at GPAG for the rest of this month.
I am pleased to also announce that fellow artist Charmaine Bayntun and I will be mounting a show of our work at the Gibsons Public Market next summer (July, August, September).
And, of course, the Art Crawl is coming up (Oct 20, 21, 22)! This year I'll have my large new oil paintings on display--I'm really excited about learning to work in this medium, at this scale, and happy with the results. Also, inspired by a demo I attended at this years IAPS pastel convention in New Mexico, I've recently been experimenting with a whole new technique and subject matter--bright contemporary renderings of Pacific Northwest birds that include the use of various printing techniques plus pastel. Great fun and an interesting next step to my exploration of bright colours and patterns in last year's Beach Bits series! Come and take a look!
