I am delighted to announce that I have been invited to join the artists' co-operative that runs The Landing Gallery in Gibson's Landing, B.C. (http://www.landinggallery.ca/). This charming and long-established (since 1997) gallery is located on the main street of Gibson's Landing, the small harbour town on the Sunshine Coast famous for being the filming site of the TV series The Beachcombers for many years (and Molly's Reach restaurant is still open for fantastic fish and chips just down the street!).
Not only is my work now available through the gallery, but I'll be actively and enthusiastically participating in a variety of activities organized by the co-op. For example, last Sunday, fellow member artist Jan Poynter and I were guest artists at a lovely reception hosted to thank the supporters of Gibson's new Public Market venture. It was a great chance to meet many lovely local folks and begin to develop a profile in this region.
On the weekend of June 14/15, I'll be doing another guest artist stint, this time as part of a Garden Tour in the Halfmoon Bay area. I'll be at the garden of Tom and Linda Sinclair at 8174 Redrooffes Rd. Weather permitting, I'll work in the garden itself, but if not, I'll still be painting somewhere nearby.
The following weekend, June 21-22, is scheduled for the opening of my studio gallery, Rivenrock Studio, at 5472 Hydaway Place in Halfmoon Bay. I'll post details closer to the dates.
As well, my work will soon (late May) be displayed at the group practice of dentist Dr. Lorne Berman in Sechelt. Hope it gives dental patients something beautiful to focus on to distract them from the dentistry!
Meanwhile, I've been continuing to develop my ability to paint in acrylic on black grounds. I'm pleased with the results so far...
