What a lovely article! It was an absolutely amazing and memorable event. I learned so much and enjoyed meeting your group from Canada.

I was so honored to be asked by Les DeMille to model for him. Thanks for your comment, I blushed.

Looking forward to studying with Sally Strand in Minnesota next May with you!

Have a great day! Denise Bunkert

The pictures are beautiful and it looked like a wonderful trip for anyone especially a pastelist. I remember you and your work from the Sally Strand workshop. I really like your work and blog!

Mam! What a wonderful blog. The girl towards the end in purple could be a clone of Jesse Tinker! Glad to see that my love of the French as rubbed off on you, beautiful pictures and stories. I look forward to seeing the results at the wedding and maybe a scarf too?
Lots and lots, congratulations.

I love the portrait of your friend Michelle! I see some of that Sally Strand workshop rubbed off on you. The light effects are great! Reminds me of some of Mary Cassatt's work too! Good job!

Also like your recent outdoor work. The tree pics have a Wolf Kahn look to them.

Bravo!

I am seeing a theme of red headed ladies Mum! The new figural works are beautiful; good for you to challenge yourself! Personas are not too forgiving! I really like the Contemplating Flight piece (of course!) her earrings are really interesting. Nice of you to keep her arms without "wings" though! I work out three times a week and I don't have arms that look that good! :)
Congratulations Mam! Now, try a woman with black hair! Maybe Phedre?

Mam! I said " ohhh Klimt-eque" when I saw this one. I really like it, especially how the woman has depth to her and the gentleman is flat one-dimensional. If only you could add some gold leafing somewhere, maybe some golden squares within her shawl? Klimt-esque indeed! I love the staff as well. Bravo ma mere, je suis fiere de toi!

Mam! We had such a wonderful time. Thanks again; I have been showing off my piece to lots of friends and you will be happy to know that I am actually drawing and doing some pastel work tonight while Johni is out with friends.
I love you and keep up the great work!

You show great bravery in overpainting that tree, and did it superbly. I never realized that would be possible with pastels!
Your work is lovely, Ruth. Congratulations!
