New book, new show

The Landing Artists’ Summer Show and Sale will be at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens on Aug 5-7, 11-4 each day. Come by and browse work from eight artists and pick up my new book Always Your Peggy!

This story is a fictionalized history of my English mother’s WWII years—a departure from Canadian history but, I hope, just as enjoyable. I’ll also have lots of new paintings and cards on view—see you there!

Spring Confetti acrylic on canvas 16 x 20 unframed ready to hang $450

Bison Rock Oil on canvas framed 23 x 29 $750

New watercolours added

As my ‘new works’ consist mostly of watercolours done during, or inspired by, my travels over the past year, I’ve renamed the page ‘watercolours’ and updated it with new works. These are almost all about 9'“x9”, matted and framed out to 12” x 12”. They are priced modestly to fit everyone’s budget—nice little gems for small spaces in your home! Enjoy.

Wind from the West 9x9 framed $275

Art of the West acceptance

I am pumped that my oil painting Silver Passage (24 x 36, $750) has been accepted into the Federation of Canadian Artists’ Scenes From Western Canada show in early May (Granville Island, Vancouver, BC).

On the cover

The local Sunshine Coast Writers and Editors Society (SCWES) will be featuring my painting His Car is Warm and Dry (below) on the cover of their Spring newsletter. Do you recognize the song lyric? Hint..it’s a Sting/Police song.

Collection J. Piros

Update March 21: Too funny—it’s actually THIS painting that will be on the cover of the Spring SCWES issue—the editor mentioned loving the painting above and I thought she had used IT. Oh well…
